Next Level Dog Adventures
Group walks that provide an alternative to daycare in the Peebles area for small to medium dogs with a fully accredited professional trainer.
Dog walking done right.
Adventures that enrich your dog and benefit their socialisation, fitness and general standard of training. Much more than just getting them out the house for an hour.
Will your dog be joining us?
In my 6 years as working as a professional trainer with all types of dogs and behaviour issues I’ve seen good dog walking help both dog’s and owners alike, on the flip side, done badly it can be harmful to your dog’s socialisation and general manners.
Now that my training work is increasingly specialised and online I’m excited to bring you dog adventures done right! This is the bit I’m truly passionate about, meeting dogs needs in the real world so that they can lead full lives and be happy pets so you can do the things you want to together.
How it works
9am - 10am - Pick up and travel
10am - 1pm - Paws on the ground adventuring, training and playing
1pm - 2pm - Travel and drop off
Available Tues, Weds and Thurs
Group Size - Max 4 client dogs + my 2 personal dogs
Who is it for?
Small to medium dogs (15kgish and under) who are fit enough to do 3 hours of exercise, are sociable with other dogs and have a reliable recall (or very calm completely on lead) and reasonable level of lead manners when required, eg around livestock.
Unfortunately I am unable to cater for entire male dogs.
If you aren’t sure if this is suitable for your dog just drop me a line, we can always work on a training package to get them up to the level required for adventuring.

I have a small van which is fitted out with professionally fitted dog crates, insulated and vented.

We will go out in most weather conditions unless there is a safety concern. In the colder months you may choose to provide your dog with a jacket to make sure they are comfortable in extended periods in wetter or colder weather. This will of course be down to your own dog and how they cope.
If the weather conditions are not suitable for a longer walk then I will use the time to visit each dog for a shorter walk, play session or let out depending on your preference for a reduced price. This should mean you are able to continue with any normal work days etc.
-
To join the walks your dog must either have a reliable recall in local forests and countryside areas OR be politely mannered on a flexi lead and stay on lead for the walk.
There may be times when all the gang need to be together on lead for periods of time, so while your dog does not need a perfect heel they do need to have some basic lead manners so as not to compromise safety.
If you are unsure if your dog is suitable then just get in touch to discuss, I’m happy to provide training to help your dog get up to scratch. They will be doing training every walk in some capacity to keep the group well behaved and safe.
If your dog is not coping socially or unsuitable for the walks I will be letting you know and able to provide any training to help should you want them to rejoin the walks.
It is fine for your dog to attend if they wear a remote collar for recall.
The enjoyment, safety and welfare of all the dogs in my care is paramount and longer standing customers will always be given priority in terms of new dogs coming in to the gang dynamics.

Your dog will be doing a combination of walking, training and playing as part of their adventure with Valley Dogs.
Some days may be entirely walking with longer routes, some days I might do individual play or training sessions with the dogs after a shorter walk route. Partly to meet their needs and to provide variety. Also to maintain my relationship with them so I can maintain good control of the group at all times.
There will be continued training for recall and good social interactions throughout the walks as standard.
Your dog will learn a whistle recall if they don’t already have one so that the whole gang responds to one clear recall signal for safety and good manners while we are out.
I’m also photographer (award winning dog portraits) and it’s likely the camera will be out with me from time to time, so expect some next level portraits of your dog.
-
Your dog will get at least two hours of exercise time, probably more. Then on some days we will return to the van for individual training and play sessions. Highly beneficial to your dogs mental health!
I’m happy for your dog to wear a GPS tracker so you can locate them at any time and see what they have been up to on their day. I recommend Tractive which are pretty reliable and can give you a discount code. I use an Apple phone so an air tag should also work as my phone will be nearby and allow you to locate your dog at any time assuming we have phone signal.
There will also be a group for daily photos and updates so you can keep up to date with your dogs adventures.

For the most part dogs socialise better with dogs of around their own size. It keeps group dynamics good and ensures your small/medium dog is happy at all times.
From a safety point of view I also think it’s important that I am able to physically manage all the dogs in my care. Should I need to put the whole gang on lead for a safety reason it means I am less likely have any issues.
We will be going for longer walks and if any of the dogs do become injured then is they weigh 15kg or under I can throw them over my shoulder and get them back to care safely, lift them over a fence or similar as needed.
There is some leeway for smaller but heavier dogs or bigger but very lightweight dogs. Just enquire if your dog is just a bit out of the boundaries.
Basically think medium Border Collie, Spaniel, Terrier or Doodle type.

Unfortunately I am unable to take entire males on the adventures at this time. My own personal dog is not comfortable with every one he meets and I do not want to have poor group dynamics or any potential scraps break out. The welfare of both my own dogs and those in my care is paramount. Neutered males and all female dogs are welcome. Although females will need to take a break during their seasons.

Enquire for your dog.
Full timetable starts in August but ad hocs and get to know you walks start now!
